Sri Lanka Stem Cell Donor Registry

Current Status

Sri Lanka Stem Cell Donor Registry (SLSCDR) is a project by Ministry of Health Sri Lanka, and National Blood Transfusion Service Sri Lanka (NBTS), It was launched on July 14th 2024 along with World Blood Donor Day National Event at Nelum Pokuna Rangahala.

Since then pledged donors have been recruited island wide via online platforms and at the blood banks and blood donation campaigns of NBTS.

SLSCDR was revamped as “Praana” following collaboration with Sri Lanka College of Transfusion Physicians and Manusath Derena on 13th of October 2024 aiming to increase awareness of the registry island wide and expand the recruitment process by organizing mass promotional drives.
