What happens after you register ?
When you pledge to become a stem cell donor, the NBTS will be doing HLA (Human Leucocyte Antigen) testing for you. You need to give a buccal swab sample for this. You can select the Blood Bank that is most convenient for you to reach, in order to give the sample. We will let you know the date of sample collection in the near future.
Following your HLA testing, the SLSCDR will facilitate these tissue typing details to be available in local and global search for stem cell donors. If you do come up as a suitable donor, we will get in touch with you straightaway, enabling you to become a Matched Unrelated Stem Cell donor for a patient.
Importance of correct/updated contact detailsIt is important to provide correct contact details when completing the pledge form. In the event of a change of contact address/ phone number, please inform the SLSCDR as soon as possible (Contact Email: slscdregistry@gmail.com).
Maintaining confidentialitySLSCDR is committed to safeguard your personal data and we assure you that this data will not be shared with any third party.
